Three months ago, hundreds of thousands of holidaymakers lost their booked vacation: FTI, the third-largest German travel group, filed for insolvency. Most FTI customers are still waiting for compensation. Insolvency proceedings have now been opened by Munich District Court on 02.09.2024. Creditors can now file their claims in the insolvency proceedings with the help of McJustice (www.mcjustice.de).

The insolvency administrator of both companies, lawyer Axel Bierbach, expects 350,000 creditors in Germany and abroad.

As part of the insolvency proceedings, 700 employees have already been given notice. Numerous jobs have been saved through sales.

FTI Touristik and its subsidiary BigXtra currently have debts of more than one billion euros to their creditors. The majority are package travelers, around 2000 to 3000 hotels and travel agents.

However, it may still be worthwhile filing a claim, as at least a certain quota can be expected.

While customers with package tours will be reimbursed at least in part by the Guarantee Fund, individual travelers must claim their entire loss themselves by filing a claim.

In the case of package tours, only the difference between the payout from the Guarantee Fund and the actual loss must be reported to the table.

But in any case, the costs of filing a claim are ultimately decisive in determining how much the individual creditor is left with. This is where the new McJustice portal can help. The costs are low at a flat rate of 149.00 euros and are independent of the amount in dispute (customer's loss). In addition, the creditor of FTI Touristik or BigXtra Touristik receives his respective quota directly into his own bank account.

By using McJustice, the damage can therefore be further minimized in the event of the insolvency of FTI or BigXtra Touristik.

Interested creditors can find out more at www.mcjustice.de . On the site, creditors can also find all the necessary data from the insolvency, which is required for registration.

We are convinced that many legal processes can now be simplified in the digital age and handled without a lawyer. This eliminates the often difficult inhibition threshold of going to a lawyer.

In this way, access to justice becomes cheaper, easier and faster - and possible for everyone. Our team consists of experienced lawyers who can look back on many years of professional experience and who have designed our system and continue to develop it on a daily basis.

In particular, the experience gained from many years of client relationships and their wishes regarding legal issues are taken into account. The core issues have always been the prospects of success, the costs and the time frame.
