The report highlights the transformative impact of PTP's Mini MBA program, which has been instrumental in lifting thousands out of poverty and creating sustainable economic opportunities since its inception in 2010.
A Decade of Impact: Key Milestones
3,500+ Graduates: Over the past decade, more than 3,500 micro-entrepreneurs from Yemen, Pakistan, and Egypt have graduated from the Mini MBA program.
20,000+ Lives Improved: The program has indirectly improved the lives of over 20,000 individuals by fostering economic independence and community development.
300+ Jobs Created: Through the program, participants have generated over 300 jobs within their communities, contributing to local economic growth.
2023 Highlights from Pakistan
In 2023, the Mini MBA program continued its impactful journey in Pakistan, with 119 participants from some of the most marginalized areas experiencing remarkable success. The report showcases three key regions:
Wadoodia Muhallah Karachi:
Stitching businesses recorded an impressive 170.16% profit margin, demonstrating the significant financial growth achieved through the program.
Embroidery businesses followed closely with a 91.71% profit margin.
Ramzan Goth BCR:
The Ladies Tailor trade led the way with a 112.58% profit margin, highlighting the economic empowerment of women in this community.
Small Businesses and Embroidery trades also saw strong profitability with margins of 68.23% and 76.11%, respectively.
Wangi Goth BCR:
Ladies Tailor businesses achieved a remarkable 162.74% profit margin.
Tuition services and Embroidery businesses also reported high profit margins of 141.50% and 80.33%, respectively.
Aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs)
The success of the Mini MBA program aligns closely with several UNSDGs, including:
SDG 1: No Poverty - By fostering economic growth and self-sufficiency among marginalized communities.
SDG 5: Gender Equality - By empowering women through education and business opportunities.
SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth - By creating sustainable jobs and improving livelihoods.
SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities - By providing equal opportunities to individuals in underserved regions.
SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals - Through strong collaborations with local organizations like The Citizens Foundation (TCF), Shahid Afridi Foundation (SAF), and Aza Khana-e-Zehra Trust (AKZ).
Looking Ahead
As PTP looks to the future, the organization is committed to scaling its impact even further. Plans for 2024 include expanding the Mini MBA program, launching a virtual version in collaboration with the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), and introducing an online marketplace to support the sale of beneficiary-crafted products locally and internationally.
