Are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?

Personal and professional experiences are the basis for Caregiving: Things You Need to Know. I hope that caregivers find the resources included in the book useful.

If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor?

Margaret Munnerlyn Mitchell. Her book Gone with the Wind is such great writing. Margaret Munnerlyn Mitchell also took a long time to write her book, but she finished it and it was a tremendous success but I think she would have written it no matter how successful it was in the long run.

Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?

Getting started is always challenging. The ideas generally flow once I start writing, and I can develop an outline. However, it isn't always easy to

What is your favorite quote?

What is your favorite movie and why?

The Color Purple for its complexity. Much of what happens to the main character Celie is unimaginable. Yet, Celie's ability to find happiness and love triumphs.

Which famous person, living or dead, would you like to meet and why?

Oprah Winfrey. I recently visited Madam Tussauds wax museum where I chatted with her about caregiving. I would love for this conversation to happen in real life, I would love to hear her perspectives.

What is your favorite genre to read, and why?

History. I love history books. The stories and experiences of others really intrigue me. I can relate to almost anything and learn from everything.
