Axis Capital Launches Its Proprietary Trading Platform Backed by Its Own Regulated Liquidity Provider
LONDON - Aug 22, 2024 - Axis Capital today announced that it has entered the proprietary trading space to provide institutional grade FX Liquidity to its live users, backed by its own regulated brokerage "Axis Markets."
Proprietary trading, or "prop trading," is quickly emerging as a significant trend within financial domains. The global prop trading industry, valued at USD 6.7 billion in 2020, is anticipated to observe a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.2% from 2021 to 2028. The burgeoning interest is self-evident, with the search demand for "prop firm" ascending by 8,409% between January 2020 and March 2024.
CEO and Founder Tom Harrington said, "By providing real market access with institutional liquidity to a grey market place we hope to stand out amongst the crowd, Axis Capital backed by its own regulated liquidity provider will give our traders a competitive edge in this ever evolving market place."
Harrington, who has worked at several Tier 1 Investment banks as well as FX Liquidity houses including Gallant Capital and Sucden Financial, secured $5m in private equity seed funding this year to launch the platform and introduce its regulated solution.
