Chen: Neurogine n2Tap is the first Malaysian technology certified by PCI SSC as MPoC Software ready.

Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, July 23, 2024: Neurogine Sdn Bhd, a Malaysian innovator in financial payment solutions, announces its flagship product, Neurogine n2Tap, is the first Malaysian mobile payment software certified by Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) for meeting its rigourous mobile payment security standard, PCI Mobile Payments on Commercial off-the-shelf or MPoC.

According Neurogine Chief Executive Officer Owen Chen Chee Onn, "PCI SSC's recognition and our achievement in passing their stringent tests is a significant milestone for both Malaysia and us." He added this certification validates the superior quality and reliability of Neurogine n2Tap, a homegrown Malaysian innovation. It also reflects Neurogine's commitment to deliver secure, interoperable and globally recognised mobile payment experiences.

Neurogine n2Tap joins an elite group, becoming the 10th to receive the PCI MPoC Software certification since it was introduced in November 2022. "Neurogine n2Tap has met this globally recogised PCI MPoC Software standard, ensuring secure transactions and payments on a variety of mobile devices," explained Chen. The standard guarantees mobile payment software solutions like Neurogine n2Tap meets the highest benchmarks in security, interoperability and functionality requirements.

The PCI MPoC Software certification guarantees Neurogine n2Tap can deliver unparalleled level of security, seamless interoperability and globally acceptance. "Transactions processed through Neurogine n2Tap are shielded by robust security protocols, minimising fraud risks," says Chen. "Our software offers seamless operations with a wide array of mobile wallets and payment terminals, regardless of location or mobile network operator. This certification fosters wider adoption by both merchants and consumers worldwide."

While Neurogine n2Tap's development was completed early last year, achieving the MPoC Software certification took several months involving meticulous culminating in the announcement by PCI SSC mid-July. "We are incredibly grateful to our dedicated team of developers and engineers," said Chen. "The experience with PCI SSC was positive and we are applying our learnings for the next step, which is to be MPoC Attestation and Monitoring certified."

This certification certainly validates the immense value proposition of Neurogine n2Tap. "We're gearing up to roll out Neurogine n2Tap across Asia Pacific, targeting banks, financial institutions, service providers, governments, educational institutions and empowering them to interact and transact with their target audience on a wide range of mobile devices. We're actively exploring customisation options for Neurogine n2Tap to suit the needs of various banks and government agencies in Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia and Cambodia," he revealed.

He attributed this expansion partly to Neurogine's participation in the Founders Centre of Excellence (FOX) programme, an initiative by the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) that aligns with the national strategic initiative, Malaysia Digital (MD). FOX is designed to drive high-potential Malaysian technology companies to new heights of innovation and market presence. The FOX programme has provided invaluable support and resources, enabling Neurogine to tailor its solutions and broaden its impact across the region.

"We are proud to celebrate Neurogine's remarkable achievement as the first Malaysian mobile payment software to be certified by the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council (PCI SSC)," said MDEC CEO Ts. Mahadhir Aziz. "As a participant in MDEC's FOX programme, Neurogine has demonstrated exceptional commitment to security and innovation in the fintech sector. This certification is a testament to their dedication to maintaining the highest standards of payment security, and it highlights the success of our collaborative efforts to advance Malaysia's digital economy. We look forward to supporting Neurogine as they continue to set new benchmarks in the industry."
