Donate to The Center for Anti­-Violence Education with CHARE

New York City’s Center for Anti­-Violence Education becomes a new aid organization at CHARE, and CHARE users can actively take a stand against violence by donating their time spent online.

For more than 40 years, New York City’s Center for Anti­-Violence Education (CAE) has taught martial arts, self­defense and violence prevention to young girls, women and LGBTQ communities in order to strengthen their ability to prevent, interrupt and heal from violence. Working together with CHARE now opens up the possibility for CHARE users to actively take a stand against violence with every minute that they spend online, and to donate to The Center for Anti­-Violence Education.

"We got to know CAE and its programs personally a few years ago, and now look forward to having the opportunity to work together," explains Bjorn Beyersdorff, the inventor and CEO of CHARE.

CAE is part of a large, charitable network in the USA that works against violence. Its mission is to provide education, and to develop strong leadership skills as well as verbal and physical strategies to help participants break cycles of violence in their lives and communities. CAE’s mission is unique both in its body-­based self-­defense approach to building confidence, as well as in its engagement of participants in activism to end racism, sexism and homophobia that cause violence. CAE believes that if we really are to live in a world free from violence, we must actively work against the oppressions that cause it in the first place. Free self­-defense and leadership courses are on offer from the age of nine, helping young girls to develop into powerful and self­confident human beings, who can both defend themselves and also speak out against abuse.

Like all charitable organizations, the CAE is also dependent on donations. The donations by CHARE users will make an important contribution in the fight against violence. The Center for Anti-­Violence Education plans to use CHARE itself later for the internal hotline and communication with its own community.
