Finnish Education Expert Joins School in Nashville, TN
Timothy D. Walker, the Finnish education expert, will be moving from Finland to join Sol Spanish Immersion School www.heifranklin.com as Director of Instruction in August 2024! He has written extensively about his teaching experiences in Finland for Educational Leadership, Education Week Teacher, and The Atlantic https://www.theatlantic.com/author/tim-walker/. In 2017, Mr. Walker authored Teach Like Finland: 33 Simple Strategies for Joyful Classrooms, which was translated into 17 languages. Pasi Sahlberg-the author of Finnish Lessons-and he co-authored the book In Teachers We Trust: The Finnish Way to World-Class Schools. Aside from mentoring & supporting Sol Spanish Immersion School's teachers, he will also be teaching English instruction in the school's kindergarten & first grade!
