Sarah Lanzman and her husband Reimer Brodersen recently embarked on a new venture, Bliss Point Farm, where they practice sustainable, biological farming, cultivating tree fruit, vegetables, herbs, and flowers. Committed to environmental stewardship and promoting healthy living, Bliss Point Farm aims to educate and inspire others to embrace sustainable living practices and explore the benefits of natural, locally-grown produce.
Reimer was born in Germany, where he taught English and history before he immigrated with Sarah and their two oldest daughters to the US. After learning basic culinary skills in several Charlottesville restaurants in the early eighties, he was the executive chef at the Massanutten ski resort in the late eighties. During the nineties, he joined Sarah in their catering business, which she had started in 1985. In 2000, he resumed teaching - German and history this time - at Western Albemarle Highschool. After his retirement in 2019, he joined Sarah to help run Bliss Point Farm.
