Tensile performance testing

Tear testing

Bursting performance test
Bursting is the term used to describe the rupture of fabric brought on by a force perpendicular to the surface of the material. A steel ball is frequently used in the real test to apply force on the cloth until it breaks.
The purpose of the Bursting Strength Tester is to measure the bursting strength and bursting distension of textile materials, including knitted, woven, nonwoven, laminated, and other materials made using different processes.

Abrasion testing
Wear is the term used to describe the surface deterioration on a cloth that results from recurrent tangential contact.
The laboratory uses a variety of devices to measure wear since different wear mechanisms will result in varied damage consequences. Its forms of operation include flat grinding (which is further classified into three varieties according on the fabric's friction direction: reciprocating, rotary, and Martindale multi-directional types), curved, hemming, compound, and turning grinding.

The majority of textiles, including woven, knitted, nonwoven, ramie, silk, and others, may have their abrasion resistance measured using the Martindale Abrasion Tester when applied with mild pressure.

The Taber abrasion tester may be used to evaluate the wear resistance of a variety of materials, including paper, cloth, paint, plywood, leather, floor tiles, and natural rubber.

Fabric appearance retention
Pilling
The fabric is continuously subjected to friction, rubbing, and other forces during the wearing and washing processes. This causes the fabric's surface to produce hair (fluff), and if the fabric is rubbed further, these hairs will ball up into balls (pilling), degrading the weaving's appearance.
In order to determine the impacts of the process or the quality of the final product, the surface pilling tester is used to evaluate the pilling of wool textiles as well as pure chemical fiber spinning, blending, knitting, and machined fabrics. Under specific friction circumstances, the device moves the sample reasonably in relation to one another using a positive friction mechanism. It takes little time to evaluate fabric pilling in order to determine product quality and enhance the production process.

Snagging
A sharp tool hooks the yarn in the fabric out of it, leaving pulling silk marks on the cloth's surface. Snagging ruins a fabric's look, therefore one of a fabric's most crucial wearing qualities-especially for knitted outerwear-is its resistance to snagging.
The Snag Resistance Tester is used to assess a fabric's propensity to snag-that is, to have yarn loops ripped out of the fabric-during everyday usage. It works well with spun yarn, textured yarn, and non-deformed yarn for knitting and weaving, but not with mesh, tufted, or non-woven materials.

Wrinkle resistance
The capacity of a cloth to withstand bending and distortion when subjected to external rubbing forces is known as wrinkle resistance. Without any external force, ordinary textiles have a smooth, flat, and wrinkle-free look. But after usage, the fabric's surface becomes less smooth, creases, and loses its original appearance, making it appear unattractive.
The fabric wrinkle recovery tester is a useful tool for determining how well materials recover from creases. It measures recovery ability using the crease level technique and may be used on a variety of fabrics with varying thicknesses to achieve both rapid and slow crease recovery inside.

Color fastness
Sunlight, washing, soaping, friction, sweat stains, ironing, bleaching, salt water, dry cleaning, and other factors can cause fabrics to fade. There are the most testing techniques for this performance. Utilizing a typical gray sample card to compare and assess the color fastness is the primary assessment technique. A colorimeter may also be used to measure the color difference.
