Water Facts you should know
According to the Geological Survey Water Science School, about 71% of the earth's surface is water. Shockingly, only 3% of this water is drinkable. However, an interesting fact is that even this 3% drinkable water is heavily contaminated with innumerable toxic chemicals, acids (low pH) and heavy metals that almost entirely remove its natural alkalinity and make it either dead or acidic water. Therefore, the water we drink today may be clean but it is not natural and definitely not healthy. That's one of the key reasons the health of people has plummeted and we have more medical/chemist shops than grocery stores.

Water and the Human Body
The human body is made of between 70-75% water e.g. the brain is 80% water, Bone 13%, Kidney 82%, Muscle 75% and Blood 90%, It is evidently clear that water is most important consideration in keeping us healthy. It is essential for our health, therefore it is very important to drink healthy and alkaline water every day.

How Healthy is our water?
Bottled Water - It is not necessary that bottled water is healthy water. The only advantage is the added minerals but this does not have any proven health benefits. Most of the bottled water has a pH level below 7.2 which means it is slightly acidic in nature. Consuming acidic water on a regular basis leads to acidity which is one of the root causes of major known health diseases.

RO Water - The water processed through Reverse Osmosis loses all types of minerals both good as well as bad. The water pH falls below 7.2 and it becomes more acidic than bottled water. If an RO machine is not maintained on regular basis, the water pH may fall below 5.0 as well. An RO machine is required only when the water TDS is very high (more than 150) but still it does not address the issue of water becoming acidic. Most people are not aware of TDS or the acidic nature of their drinking water.

Tap Water - The water supplied by local municipal authority is neutral in most of the cases, however, tap water sometimes becomes contaminated with germs and chemicals while water is traveling through the distribution system, it may collect in a building's or society's water tank and may be further distributed to individual homes. The pH is likely to drop further due to contamination, which results in the same acidity problem.

What is pH?
In chemistry, pH is a scale used to specify how acidic or alkaline a water-based solution is. Acidic solutions have lower pH, while alkaline solutions have higher pH at room temperature. Pure water is neither acidic nor alkaline and has a pH value of 7. The human body must keep its pH within a very narrow range in order to survive and function properly. The medically measured 'normal' range is 7.35 - 7.45 for human blood.

Acidic Water - Water with a pH value below 7.2 is acidic. Typically, normal tap water, RO water and most bottled water, all have a pH value below 7.2. Consuming water below a pH of 7.2 makes the human body acidic, which is the root cause of many diseases from one that cause discomfort such as bloating, indigestion, gas to serious chronic diseases such as acid reflux, high cholesterol, irritable bowel syndrome, inflammation, diabetes, hair loss and even certain type of metabolic cancers.

Most types of water, including tap water and bottled water, are acidic as their pH value is below 7.2.

Neutral Water - Water with pH 7.2 is considered Neutral.

Alkaline Water - Water with a pH value ranging from 7.3 to 14 is considered alkaline. Water between pH 8.0 to pH 9.0 has several health benefits as it neutralizes the excess acidity in the body.

What is ORP?
In the universe that surrounds us, we're unable to witness it with our eyes but there is a continuous exchange of electrons that takes place between various substances in the air, earth, water and in our bodies. This phenomenon is known as ion-exchange.

In an effort to reach a state of stability, substances that are lacking electrons are desperately seeking electrons wherever they can find them; these substances are referred to as oxidizing agents. On the other hand, substances which have a surplus of electrons are capable of donating their extra electrons; these substances are referred to as reducing agents, or anti-oxidizing agents.

Oxidation-reduction potential, or ORP, is a measurement that indicates the degree to which a substance is capable of oxidizing or reducing another substance. ORP is measured in millivolts (mV) using an ORP meter.

Positive ORP (+ORP) - A positive ORP reading indicates that a substance is an oxidizing agent. The higher the reading, the more oxidizing it is and more unhealthy or dangerous for human body. A few common examples of Oxidation is -
1. An apple turns to brown after cut is a result of oxidation process
2. An Iron item catches rust
Most types of water, including tap water and bottled water, are oxidizing agents as their ORP value is positive.

Negative ORP (-ORP) - A negative ORP reading indicates that a substance is a reducing agent. The lower the reading, the more anti-oxidizing and healthier it is.
Alkaline ionized water is an anti-oxidizing agent, as it has a negative ORP value and it is able to donate extra electrons to neutralize the harmful effects of free radicals on the human body.

What is Micro-Clustering?
Water molecules naturally form clusters rather than stand-alone single molecule. Tap water which is under pressure has very large clusters of 12-16 water molecules. Alkaline water machines break the electrical bonding of water molecules and restructures the water down to around 5-6 molecules per cluster by using electrolysis process. This smaller cluster size means that the water can be more easily absorbed into the cells, thereby providing superior hydration for the body and helping to dissolve and flush out acidic solid waste and toxins that have accumulated in the body.

What is Dissolved Hydrogen?
Hydrogen is a very strong antioxidant and it immediately eliminates free radicals and acidic metabolites (for example, lactic acid). So by its free radical neutralizing ability, it protects human body cells.
1. The most powerful anti-oxidative activity (176 times of vitamin C, 431 times of vitamin E, 863 times of Coenzyme Q 10)

Introduction to Alkaline Water Ionizer
In recent years, the popularity of alkaline water ionizers has surged, with proponents claiming a myriad of health benefits. A water ionizer is a home appliance that are designed to alter the pH level of the water by using electrolysis process, typically from neutral pH (7.2) to alkaline levels pH(8-9.5). This process involves passing water through the electrolysis chamber that uses negative (cathode) electrodes and positive (anode) electrodes. In the electrolysis chamber, the electrical power separates the water into alkaline water near the negative electrodes and acidic water near the positive electrodes. Near the negative electrodes, the positively ionized minerals, such as calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), potassium (K) and
sodium (Na) and dissolved hydrogen produce the high pH alkaline water, whereas near the positive electrodes, negatively ionized minerals, such as chlorine (Cl), sulfur (S) and dissolved oxygen make the low pH acidic water.

Why is Alkaline Ionized water considered to be "Super Healthy" water?
As a result of an electrolysis process, the Ionizers produce Alkaline Ionized Water which contains several health properties such as -

1. The ionized water is anti-oxidant which helps in neutralizing the free radicals. These are harmful molecules that can damage cells and contribute to aging, heart disease, arthritis and a whole host of diseases.

2. The ionized water is micro-clustered i.e. the size of the water gets reduced to almost 2/3rd size of the normal water that results in superior and more hydration as compare to the normal water.
