[Lucknow, UP] - [24/11/2023] - Veteran Comic Artist, Educator and Industry Icon Dilip Chaubey announces the launch of India's First-ever Comic Book School "The Dilip Chaubey School of Art" or DCSA, India's pioneering institution for comic art education through its 6-month certification program in 'Character Design, Comic Illustration, and Digital Art' in their Lucknow campus.

The School is dedicated to training artists in sequential arts and upskilling the crafts of the comics industry. The program, led by veteran comic artist and educator, Mr. Dilip Chaubey, promises to transform the art education landscape in India, particularly in comics. It offers an international-level curriculum, bridging the gap between Indian and global comic art standards. And focuses on a practical skill-based learning approach, providing hands-on, industry-aligned training to shape students into top-skilled artists.

The program is for artists with prior formal art degrees that want to learn or upgrade the craft of comics and sequential art. The curriculum comprises foundational, advanced and specialised modules followed by individual and team-based projects over the 6 month duration.

About the Founder & Dean: Dilip Chaubey

Mr. Dilip K Chaubey, a BFA Gold Medalist from BHU '91 with over 30 years of experience in illustration and teaching, is a pioneer in India's comic industry. He is the Dean and Founder of Dilip Chaubey School of Art & VINMICS Studios and has previously served as a Senior Professor in Digital Arts at an American University. Mr. Chaubey's illustrious career also includes being a former illustrator at Raj Comics, where he created iconic characters like Tiranga, Parmanu, and Fighter Toads in the 90s. With over 300 comics under his belt at Raj Comics, and 14 years teaching internationally, Mr. Chaubey's expertise is widely recognized. He is revered for his contributions to the Indian Comics Community with his illustrations and knowledge.
