Dr. Hahn's Solution for anti-burglary protection

At the FENSTERBAU FRONTALE, which took place between 16 and 19 March 2016 in Nuremberg, the door hinge manufacturer Dr. Hahn presented its broad range of break-in prevention solutions, among other things, at its stand 1-327 in pavilion 1.

Hinge-integrated security
In January of 2016, Dr. Hahn extended its product range by adding new saw-resistant bearing pins to prevent break-ins. These were designed in accordance with the amended guideline published by the Dutch testing inspectorate SKG-IKOB. The new Hahn saw-resistant bearing pin prevent a hinge from being compromised with the aid of a hacksaw. The pins can be used with almost every Hahn door hinge that is compatible with metal and plastic doors and is also available as a retrofit kit. With door hinges equipped with such a pin, the manufacturer now offers products that satisfy the rigorous requirements placed on protection against break-ins in the Netherlands. They are moreover suited for use on break-in-resistant elements according to EN 1627 in Europe and will help to make the life of burglars difficult world-wide.

Tested by specialists and avoided by burglars
The new pins have been tested by the Dutch testing inspectorate SKG-IKOB. Almost all Hahn door hinges for metal and plastic doors are permitted to bear the SKG star label – Door Hinge 4 was even awarded the 3-star label.

Simple safeguarding of door hinges
Additional protection for externally mounted door hinges is highly recommended. The simplest way to safeguard a hinge against being compromised with the aid of a tool is to use the Hahn security balls. These are hammered in the tool contact point of screw heads. Depending on the application and drive, the security balls can be ordered individually or in an especially convenient double package.

All attempts are futile!
To ensure that the door leaf cannot be removed, a safety mandrel is installed at the hinge. In this context, the door-mounted safety mandrel engages perfectly into a rosette that is mounted in an opened state on the door frame. The Hahn safety mandrel is a simple way for preventing a closed door from being forced open.
Special types of hinges are protected with snap-off screws, which are installed into the base of the door hinge, until the screw's head snaps off. Doing so ensures that the bolt can no longer be removed by unauthorized persons.

Assistance during selection process
There are carefully adapted Hahn security kits for almost all Hahn hinges. Dr. Hahn also provides in-depth installation instructions. The security kits consist of all necessary accessories that are essential as added protection for externally mounted hinges. These kits include, among other things, plates to support the hinge on the section, section-based mounting plates, Hahn security ball kits and the new Hahn saw-resistant bearing pins.
