Frankfurt/Main (Germany), 26th November 2007. IonGate Biosciences GmbH was elected by the initiative “Germany - Land of Ideas” as landmark in 2008. The motto “Surfing into the world of drugs” received the jury’s acclaim. IonGate will open it's doors to the public on November 17th 2008 and celebrate the award with an open day, offering visitors the rare opportunity to explore a highly innovative biotech company. A comprehensible program will focus on IonGate's SURFE2R Technology. SURFE2R enables scientists to develop new drugs, for example for the treatment of Alzheimer or coronary disease, quicker and more reliable.

In 2008, a leap year, the nationwide event series “365 Landmarks in the Land of Ideas” will present 365 plus 1 landmarks where the future is shaped.
The great number of over 1,500 entries even as the contest entered its third year clearly shows the importance of Germany’s largest event series. It continues the project partnership between the “Germany - Land of Ideas” nation-branding initiative and Deutsche Bank to further promote creative landmarks and their ideas.

In the scope of “Germany - Land of Ideas” initiatives, institutions, clubs and associations developing innovations and creating ideas are awarded. These include public and private institutions, universities and research institutes, and companies, as well as social and cultural projects.
