IonGate presents SURFE2R Technology and relevant fields of application at Biophysics Congress

Frankfurt/Main (Germany), January 28, 2008. IonGate Biosciences GmbH will present its SURFE2R Technology for label-free and automatic measurement of transport proteins at the 52nd Annual Meeting and 16th International Biophysics Congress. The joint meeting of the American Biophysical Society takes place in Long Beach, California, USA, on February 2 – 6, 2008. Scientists from industry, universities and private academic institutes use this opportunity to present results of their latest research and share their thoughts and ideas about current research trends.

Prior to the congress Prof. Jonathan Lytton, University of Calgary, will make a presentation at the Satellite Meeting “Drug Discovery for Ion Channels and Transporters VIII” on February 1, 2008. His talk will focus on the fast and easy implementation of IonGate’s SURFE2R Technology into his research, and the consequential benefits for the examination of potassium dependent sodium/calcium exchangers. Within a very short period of time Prof. Lytton has accomplished the first successful experiments with his specific target proteins. The new SURFE2R Technology has enabled him to examine the function of these transport proteins in a robust and reliable manner for the first time.

During the Biophysics Congress two posters will be presented detailing the latest research employing the SURFE2R Technology. One presentation illustrates the results of a scientific collaboration, while the second poster demonstrates IonGate’s research on regulation and expression of transport proteins in mammalian cells.
