The Adelphi University Symphony Orchestra to Perform an All-Bach Program on Friday, April 1, 2016

The Adelphi University Performing Arts Center (AUPAC) is proud to announce that the Adelphi University Symphony Orchestra will perform an evening of orchestral works by Johann Sebastian Bach on Friday, April 1, 2016, at 8:00 p.m. on the Westermann Stage of the Concert Hall at 1 South Avenue, Garden City, NY.

Under the direction of Grammy nominated music director Christopher Lyndon-Gee, the Adelphi Symphony Orchestra proudly presents an all-Bach concert, featuring no less than five outstanding soloists from the University’s distinguished faculty. Mezzo-soprano, Abigail Fischer and tenor, Jonathan Goodman perform eight of the greatest arias from Bach’s Cantatas. Flutist Linda DiMartino Wetherill and piccolo trumpet player Thomas Verchot are featured in the Second Brandenburg Concerto, joined by harpsichord professor Elaine Comparone and lute and guitar professor William Zito on arch lute playing continuo. Student flutists Erica Mumford and Jennifer Spicher feature as soloists in Bach’s Fourth Brandenburg Concerto. Featured as concertmaster is guest solo violinist, Igor Pikayzen, in the spectacular virtuoso music of Nichts kann mich erretten and Erbarme dich.
