A New Era of Plastic Recycling: Eagle Technology and Biofabrik's Collaboration Yields Serial-Ready WASTX Pyrolysis Plant
Innovative Alliance for Environmental Impact: Eagle Technology and Biofabrik Introduce Serial-Ready WASTX Plastic Pyrolysis PlantDresden (DE)/ Halden (NO)/ Zepče (BA) - In a remarkable breakthrough for plastic recycling, Eagle Technology and Biofabrik proudly announce the successful development of the serial-ready WASTX Plastic, marking a significant milestone in the history of plastic waste management.
Plastic waste recycling through pyrolysis has been an elusive goal for over a decade, with numerous attempts falling short of practical success. However, Eagle Technology and Biofabrik have achieved the impossible through a visionary partnership and unwavering determination.
The collaboration between Biofabrik, a pioneer in modular chemical recycling, and Eagle Technology, boasting 40 years of technical expertise in the offshore industry, has proven to be the perfect recipe for success. This alliance blends with Biofabrik's 12 years of market experience with extensive networks and technical prowess, paving the way for a groundbreaking achievement.
"At the heart of our strategy lies the art of partnership and a 'divide and conquer' philosophy, where each party is allowed to excel and focus on what they do best," said Oliver Riedel, CEO at Biofabrik.
The first conversation between the two companies began in 2021 when Eagle Technology recognized the need to transition to more sustainable sectors in line with their vision of a "Clean Future." This shared commitment to plastic recycling laid the foundation for their collaboration in Norway, leading to the development of the WASTX Technology.
"As the basis for developing WASTX technology, we have used insights from our operational ITDU technology in Norway, which converts drill cuttings into recycled oil. The concept of a modular containerized plastic recycling system stems from our German partner, Biofabrik, and this was the ultimate starting point for the WASTX solution we now proudly present to you," explained Roy Moberg, CEO at Eagle Technology.
The partnership quickly bore fruit, achieving a successful Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) of the WASTX Plastic technology, conducting actual feedstock runs, and producing market-ready oil. This advanced generation of the WASTX Plastic Plant features significant technical improvements and is designed for global scalability - - marking the dawn of a new era in plastic recycling.
"Biofabrik's approach extends beyond individual projects, as we rather concentrate on scaling existing technologies from 5 to 500 units. We recognize the need for a driving force that pushes the boundaries toward transformative change, and that driving force is us," stated Oliver Riedel, CEO at Biofabrik.
To enhance the experience further, Biofabrik also provides an offtake agreement, streamlining the product's sale on the market and offering customers a comprehensive business model. The synergy between a fully operational plant and a secured offtake contract led the project toward success and underscored our solution's commercial viability.
As a testament to this milestone, a Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) celebration showcased the plant's maturity, garnering praise from customers and industry experts.
"Together with Biofabrik, we hosted our first joint demo week together, and it could not have gone better," shared Roy Moberg, CEO at Eagle Technology.
The successful FAT celebration set the stage for the official launch of the plant and its global rollout, with a release event scheduled in Bosnia-Herzegovina on the 24th of October 2023. The event promises to unveil revolutionary advancements in chemical recycling and a fully automated, decentralized, and modular pyrolysis unit capable of processing up to 5 tons of plastic waste per day into high-quality pyrolysis oil and energy-rich gas.
Oliver Riedel, CEO at Biofabrik invites everyone to participate: "We can't wait to showcase our innovative strides in chemical recycling to the world, making a positive impact on the environment while revolutionizing the industry. Join us for the launch event and witness engineering excellence in action,"
