Simplifile eRecording Services -- eRecording Made Simple

Pulaski County, AR – November 12, 2007 - Simplifile announced today that the company will soon be electronically recording (eRecording) land record documents such as deeds, mortgages, and reconveyances submitted by title companies, abstractors, banks, and attorneys, in the Pulaski County Clerk’s Office.

To introduce the public to eRecording, Pulaski County is hosting an eRecording kick-off meeting from 10:30 am until 12:30 pm, November 19, 2007 in the Jeffery Hawkins Conference Room located inside the Pulaski County Regional Center at 501 W. Markham Street in Little Rock, Arkansas. Simplifile representative Patricia Sponem will be in attendance to demonstrate the system and to conduct a question and answer session.

eRecording is the process of submitting, receiving, and processing, via a secure Internet site, documents for recording that have traditionally been delivered to the county for recording by runner, express mail, or courier service. eRecording offers customers the ability to simplify and accelerate all aspects of the recording process, dramatically shortening the Gap and improving auditability.

“The Pulaski County Clerk’s Office is pleased to partner with Simplifile to provide eRecording services to our clients,” said County Clerk, Pat O’Brien. According to Clerk O’Brien, “We are continually evaluating ways to improve the quality of our services, and believe that eRecording enables us to more efficiently record documents, eliminate document filing errors, and actually increase document security—while at the same time, work with our private sector partners, like Simplifile, to improve turn-around times and increase efficiencies. eRecording customers will now have the ability to record and track the status of documents from the convenience of their offices, using a standard Web browser.”

More than a mere trend in land record document submission, eRecording is a government priority. Federal (ESIGN) and state legislation (UETA) has established the legal basis for secure electronic recording, and dozens of states and counties are already eRecording today.

"Simplifile is thrilled to have this business relationship with the Pulaski County Clerk’s Office. Clerk O’Brien and the Clerk’s Office are demonstrating leadership in the national effort to make the land record submission and recording process easier and more secure through the use of technology,” said Paul Clifford, President of Simplifile. Based on our experiences in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Massachusetts, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and a number of other states, companies doing business with the Pulaski County Clerk’s Office will enjoy significant productivity gains and enhanced filing and recording services by eRecording with Simplifile.”

Individuals and organizations that regularly file documents with the county are invited to attend the eRecording Seminar hosted by the Pulaski County Clerk’s Office and Simplifile on November 19th at 10:30 am at the County Regional Center in Little Rock. To RSVP for the meeting and to find out more about Simplifile eRecording Services, contact Simplifile Account Executive, Pat Sponem, by phone at 561.376.9471 or by email at pat@simplifile.com.
