Radar sensors are accurate and suitable for various liquids, including corrosive and non-conductive substances.
5. Capacitance Level Sensors: These sensors measure changes in capacitance caused by the presence of a liquid. Two electrodes (usually plates) are inserted into the container, and the capacitance between them changes as the liquid level rises or falls. This change in capacitance is converted into a liquid level reading.
6. Conductive Level Sensors: Conductive sensors use electrical conductivity to determine liquid levels. Two electrodes are placed at different heights in the container. When the liquid reaches the level of the electrodes, it completes an electrical circuit, triggering the sensor to indicate the liquid level.
7. Guided Wave Radar (GWR): GWR sensors send radar signals down a probe or waveguide that extends into the liquid. The radar signal travels along the probe until it encounters the liquid's surface, and the time it takes to return provides the level measurement. GWR sensors are suitable for challenging applications with varying process conditions.
8. Hydrostatic Pressure Sensors: These sensors measure the hydrostatic pressure at the bottom of a container, which is directly proportional to the liquid column's height. By converting pressure into liquid level, these sensors are often used in applications with static, non-moving liquids.
