New Website by the Law Offices of James Sokolove Helps Families Cope When a Loved One is Diagnosed

When it comes to an illness as serious as malignant mesothelioma—a rare and aggressive cancer for which there is currently no cure—the focus is almost always on the victim. A healthy diet, rest and exercise are also emphasized as a means for helping relatives and caregivers maintain their well-being during an emotionally difficult time.

Additionally, family members are advised to seek out support groups where they can connect with others in a similar situation. The Mesothelioma Resource Center provides a comprehensive directory of support groups and other resources for victims, family members and caregivers.

“Families don’t have to carry this burden alone,” says social worker Mellissa Hayon, LICSW, who provides counseling and advice through the website. “The Mesothelioma Resource Center is here to help them deal with their loved one’s diagnosis in the most positive way possible.”
