URBAN LEARNING COLLABORATIVE (ULC) PRESENTS SECOND ANNUAL GALA: HOLLYWOOD GLAM

Milwaukee, October 21st, 2023 - Urban Learning Collaborative (ULC) is thrilled to announce their highly-anticipated Second Annual Gala, taking place at the prestigious Saint Kate - The Arts Hotel in Milwaukee. This extraordinary fundraising event aims to raise $50,000 for the esteemed Haberman and Tyler Urban Advancement Program.

Themed "Hollywood Glam," the 2023 gala promises an unforgettable night of elegance and splendor. Guests will indulge in a culinary experience curated by the renowned Ambrosia Events, savoring exquisite dishes while being enchanted by the musical stylings of Milwaukee's own Cigarette Break, featuring a captivating fusion of jazz, hip-hop, R&B, and gospel.

The Urban Learning Collaborative will also be honoring and celebrating four exceptional education leaders from Milwaukee during the gala, recognizing their remarkable contributions to the community. Awardees include: Toni Fink, an MPS teacher, for the Distinguished Alumna Award; Tonda Thompson, founder of She Slangs Wood, for the Trailblazer Award; Dannette J Justus, founder of Just Us Books, for the Rising Star Award; and Keith Carrington, formerly of North Division High School, posthumously receiving the Legacy Award (which will be accepted by his wife Tanzaniqu Carrington.

The goal for this year's gala is to raise $50,000, an amount that will be entirely dedicated to the Haberman and Tyler Urban Advancement Program. Established in 2022 in tribute to ULC founders Dr. Martin Haberman and Jean Tyler, this program aims to uplift urban communities through investments in learning opportunities, support and mentoring, and essential resources.
