MAX MÜLLER takeover completed, more new products and expansion

After buying MAX MÜLLER, the well-known manufacturer of cutting machines for the rubber and plastics industry, Metzner has now successfully completed the takeover process, so extending its product range and continuing its expansion as a company.

Neu-Ulm, 29 October 2007. The Metzner Maschinenbau GmbH has extended its "rubber and plastics" business sector following the purchase of MAX MÜLLER (Hanover) in September 2007. In addition, Metzner has increased its market presence through the acquisition of numerous MAX MÜLLER sales partners in Europe, Asia and Oceania. "We are delighted that our network of companies is continuing to grow, so that we are able to offer Metzner's and MAX MÜLLER'S customers a large variety of benefits", Gerhard Rauch, Metzner's Managing Director, said.

For decades now, MAX MÜLLER products have stood for excellent workmanship and they enjoy continued international recognition and widespread popularity as a result of their robust, high-performance construction.

In May 2006, the long-established firm MAX MÜLLER, founded in 1889, filed for bankruptcy. It was initially taken over by the engineering services provider Brunel, before being acquired by Metzner on 1 September 2007. Brunel recognized that the mechanical engineering products were not the best match for its business model as a service company.

Prior to bankruptcy, MAX MÜLLER had a turnover of approx. € 2m and these volumes will effectively boost Metzner's further development.
Through the acquisition, Metzner is extending its product portfolio by adding the guillotine cutting and mandrel cutting machines, as well as eccentric cutting technology product groups. The range of circular knife and travelling machines is also being extended. Metzner can now offer the industry the widest range of products, including every current processing technique for cutting rubber and plastics.

In future too, practically all MAX MÜLLER products will continue to be produced by Metzner and re-engineered according to market requirements. This all represents a series of benefits for clients of Metzner and MAX MÜLLER:
