i40.de and BMW's innovative 3D learning world is recognized with eLearning Project of the Year 2023

With over 300 project submissions in 2023, the interest in the German eLearning AWARD of the renowned eLearning Journal remains high. In the process, 84 state of the art projects were able to prevail in their respective categories. i40 - the future skills company (i40.de), together with BMW Group, has the winning project of the eLearning Award 2023 for the project "GET E/EXCITED: 3D Learning World with Blended Learning for BMW's Digital Transformation" in the category "3D Learning World".

Among the 84 winning projects in the categories, the expert jury of the eLearning Journal awarded the TOP 3 projects with the special AWARD eLearning "Project of the Year 2023" at LEARNTEC on 23 May 2023. Among these TOP 3 learning projects was the joint project of i40 and BMW and received 1st place and is thus the eLearning Project of the Year 2023.

In the far-reaching transformation of the automotive industry, the interaction of hardware and software is becoming increasingly important. The development and production of vehicles with new electrified drive architectures, digital services and closed material cycles also requires a new competence architecture in the company. These basic ideas form the basis for the intensive cooperation between the BMW Group and i40 - the future skills company. Together, a holistic further education architecture has been designed, developed and implemented.
At the center of this learning architecture is a completely newly developed 3D learning world named GET E/EXCITED, which, through a blended learning approach, is also closely interlinked with physical, multimedia edutainment rooms, in which, among other things, 3D models of the latest generation of vehicles, projection screens for visualizing important data streams and a robotics challenge, in which participants have to program a robot themselves in just a few minutes and learn to understand the technical chains of action, are available.

Philipp Ramin, CEO of i40 - the future skills company: "Enthuse, apply, transform" is the motto if effective transformation is to be achieved through learning. BMW has recognized this and, together with i40 - the future skills company, has asked itself how the digital transformation can succeed through further training. In order to implement it sustainably, new competencies are needed on the one hand, and on the other hand, the transformation must be anchored sustainably in the minds of employees and managers. With GET E/EXCITED, we have created a comprehensive, company-wide learning offer that gives all BMW employees the opportunity to learn the basics on the topic of E/E and to transfer what they have learned into professional practice. It was important to us to design GET E/EXCITED in such a way that the employees are at the center of the transformation. The program not only imparts knowledge and enthusiasm, but also motivates each individual to actively drive the transformation. The learning program has been well received in various countries, including Germany, the USA, Mexico and the UK. We are very pleased that the jury has recognized this unique project among the TOP 3 projects (with 1st place) in the eLearning Award "Project of the Year 2023"."
