Press release from: Advent Messenger

At a Divine Sabbath Seventh-day Adventist Worship Service,

"Moreover they have done this to Me: They have defiled My sanctuary on the same day and profaned My Sabbaths." Ezekiel 23:38.

On Saturday, March 18, 2023, the puppet ministry of Auburn Academy and Walla Walla University in Tacoma, Washington, joined the Alofau Seventh-day Adventist Church in American Samoa for "the entire divine service." The puppets sang and told stories that Sabbath morning. One of the puppets even told the church congregation during the "divine service" that he hadn't changed his underwear in a month.

What else would you expect when puppet shows and comedians take over Sabbath morning and become the new agencies to deliver God's Word and provide spiritual guidance, education, and inspiration to the members of the church? Puppets are no doubt an effective way to entertain people, if you were working for the circus. But what meaningful message and edification can imaginary puppets deliver to the church on Sabbath morning?

Joking puppets trivialize "the most solemn truths ever entrusted to mortals" (9T 10). That is what God has given to Seventh-day Adventists, and our character and demeanor must reflect our sacred calling. Puppets are known for entertainment. They were created to amuse the people. It is a temporary escape to delight an audience. Puppetry, however, undermines and weakens the distinctiveness and uniqueness of our spiritual calling because it reduces us to the same level as the local circus. And when we modify our church services to reflect what we see in the world, we do irreparable harm to both the church and our young people.

Let Us Stop Avoiding the Real Issues
Let Us Stop Avoiding the Real Issues
As the 2025 General Conference Session convenes, with believers from around the world watching and praying, there is an unmistakable sense of frustration among many of the faithful. While we will be given lectures about returning our tithes and offerings-as outlined in the proposed 2025 Church Manual agenda-we must ask ourselves: is this truly the burning concern on the hearts of God's remnant people at this critical hour in history? The

While walking down the hallway at the America's Center Convention Complex-the site of the 62nd General Conference Session-I saw Ganoune Diop approaching. Knowing how busy church leaders are during these sessions, I asked if he had time to answer just one question. He stopped to look at me, and I asked him directly, "Why don't you preach the Three Angels' Messages? Why do you only preach Jesus?" As he began

As the day began, it was clear that the opening session would be marked by intense debate and contention. Everyone who attended the morning press conference orientation was informed that three agendas were going to be approved on this day: the Church Manual agenda, the Constitutional agenda, and the General agenda. The main issue centered on the General agenda, which allows for multiple items to be introduced. It was during

Adventism is being modified to imitate our culture. Instead of influencing society with the gospel, our worship is becoming like any other worldly rap concert. In the video above, you will see the kind of performance you would expect at a worldly music festival. However, what makes this situation worse is the fact that the person in the video is an ordained Seventh-day Adventist pastor who is rapping on Holy

Last-day Sabbath Keepers
The Old Testament prophecies make it clear that in the last days of human history those who are loyal to God will be Seventh-day observers. In a heavenly vision, Isaiah, contemplating the end time, the time when "My salvation is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed" (Isaiah 56:1), declares, "Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that
