New focal point of the supplier show for mechanical engineering

FMB 2014 with a special plastics engineering show

FMB – the supplier show for mechanical engineering, which will be staged for the tenth time at Bad Salzuflen Exhibition Centre from 5-7 November 2014, is adding a special show on the subject of plastics engineering to its exhibition portfolio.

Exhibitors will be presenting machines, products and services on a separate display area geared towards the requirements of the plastics processing industry. This branch of industry is extremely well represented in East Westphalia-Lippe (OWL): Some 500 companies and institutions with approx. 17,000 members of staff generate annual sales of around 3 billion euros. OWL is also heavily repre-sented in the consumer segments of plastics processing - automotive suppliers, electrical engineering/electronics and the domestic appliance industry - with many global leaders, hidden champions and smaller, highly specialised suppliers. This is a clear argument in favour of supplementing the exhibition with the product groups related to this sector.

Companies from the entire value chain have already registered to take part in the first special show of plastics suppliers. Among these enterprises are manufactur-ers of plastics processing machines (Haitian/Zhafir in association with system partners) and suppliers of engineering software for plastic components (Cof-fee/Solidworks) as well as companies engaged in the processing of plastic and silicone items (e.g. nordform Max Storch and QIN-Form). The range of products showcased in Hall 21 will be completed by peripheral equipment, for example to join plastic components (Heißlufttechnik Flocke).

The strength of the regional companies is not the only reason for establishing plastics engineering as a new focal point of the show. Moreover, the range of products is also a useful addition to the FMB portfolio from the point of view of the visitors.
Christian Enßle, Show Manager FMB: "The majority of visitors to the show are engineers, buyers and directors of medium-sized manufacturing enterprises. Many of these companies make additional purchases of plastic components or produce them in their own injection moulding shop. It is, therefore, only logical that FMB will be addressing the subject of plastics processing and providing visitors and exhib-itors alike with the opportunity to establish new business contacts."
