PARIS, LONDON – DISTREE Events has announced an extension of its global agreement with Event Partner GfK. As part of an expanded relationship, international market research firm GfK will host and deliver dedicated GfK Summits at each DISTREE event taking place around the world.

The first GfK Summit will be held at DISTREE Asia Pacific (APAC) in Singapore, which takes place from 8-10th October 2014. The second GfK Summit is scheduled for DISTREE Brazil & Latin America, which takes place from 22-24th October 2014. The GfK Summit will also be included at all DISTREE events scheduled to take place in 2015.

Farouk Hemraj, CEO at DISTREE Events, said: “This is a natural evolution of our global partnership with GfK and is testament to their end-to-end channel visibility and ability to deliver focused and relevant content for the VIP channel executives that will attend the GfK Summits.”

“GfK has a unique ability to deliver value-added content to our delegate base of technology and consumer electronics (CE) vendors, distributors, resellers, retailers and e-tailers at each regional DISTREE event. It is also an opportunity for GfK to showcase the breadth and depth of its channel data tracking products and services.”

The GfK Summits will form part of the overall conference agenda at each DISTREE event, giving delegates the opportunity to access a range of expert-led presentations and interact with GfK’s local team of experts. GfK will focus on market and category trends in each region and also provide information on its new GfK Supply Chain Management (SCM) Insights service.

GfK SCM Insights consists of four core elements: distribution data, reseller and retail sales tracking data, forecasting services and product catalogues. The four elements can be used separately or as a complete service showing the full, end-to-end supply chain picture.

Rudi Aunkofer, Global Director IT at GfK, said: “GfK is now the first agency worldwide able to combine the complex data sets for distribution, retail and reseller information into one single database. Our clients can get consistent reporting across more than 70 countries worldwide, segmented by regions, features, channels, customers and price bands. This universal view will make it much easier to identify improvements and efficiencies within their supply chain, to optimise performance and profitability.”

“Within the GfK Summit sessions at the upcoming DISTREE Events, local experts from GfK will provide market insights aligning distribution data and point of sales figures data to boost revenue opportunities through competitive channel management. In addition GfK will evaluate the market potential of the latest trends and share their market expectations for the latest products,” he added.

DISTREE Events has also confirmed that a new GfK advice service will launch at DISTREE EMEA 2015, which takes place in Monaco from 24-27 February. This brand new service will allow delegates the opportunity to pre-schedule meetings with the GfK team at the event to discuss specific business issues or trends and receive advice and recommendations tailored to their precise needs.

Hemraj added: “This is another value-add for DISTREE EMEA delegates. We know from past experience that many attendees – be they vendors, distributors or channel partners – value the independent insight and unique perspective that GfK can offer them. We believe that the GfK advice service will be a popular addition to the overall DISTREE EMEA delegate experience.”
