EXPO REAL 2007 – More Russians take part than ever before
Over 50 Russian companies are taking part in EXPO REAL from8 to 10 October 2007
• Real Estate Investors Guide and Russian Afternoon with Russian sector experts give in-depth insights into the Russian market
The Russian Federation will be represented at EXPO REAL 2007 more strongly than ever before. Over 50 exhibitors from the region will be taking part in the 10th International Commercial Property Exposition between 8 and 10 October 2007 in Munich. Compared to the previous year, this is a rise of 25 percent in participation by the Russian Federation.
Leading Russian companies from the property sector will present their latest projects at the fair – among them Coalco, Krost Constructions, Renova Stroy Group, Absolute Investments, Sberbank, Jupiter and RIGroup. RIGroup, for example, will present its plans for large, modern office complexes and shopping centres for retail chains in the Moscow area. “Our company would like to attract foreign investors to engage in Russia and to establish international standards on the Russian market,” is how Zhanna Bullock, President of the RIGroup, explained his company´s interest in EXPO REAL.
Metropolises like Moscow, St Petersburg, Yekaterinburg and Kazan and regions like Tjumen will also be showcasing their current urban development plans at the fair, with the aim of attracting investors and partners. One project being presented at EXPO REAL, for example, is what is known as the ‘New Ring of Moscow’, which involves the construction of up to 200 high-rises intended for a range of purposes.
These plans make Russia a very attractive destination for foreign capital. In the first half-year of 2007 the equivalent of around 27.3 billion euros (33.4 billion if the securities market is included) flowed into the country. In the property sector these investments extended primarily to office and retail property, but also to the logistics and hotel segments.
In-depth information on investment opportunities and market mechanisms in Russia will be offered at EXPO REAL in the ‘Real Estate Investors Guide: Russian Federation’, an event taking place on 8 October 2007, between 12 midday and 12.50 p.m. The following day, Tuesday, 9 October, from 2 to 6 p.m., visitors can brush up their knowledge of the Russian market, in the ‘Russian Afternoon’ in the Media Lounge (Hall C2). Here a panel of experts from business and public administration will be answering questions such as: What are the current risks and costs involved in development in Russia? What opportunities are there in the field of infrastructure for public-private partnership models in Moscow and regional cities? And: How can one acquire land in Russia and finance projects? These experts will also be presenting information on investment opportunities in the Ukraine, St Petersburg and other regional cities.
