Scope

Scope e-Knowledge Center (Scope), a leading provider of knowledge services and a Quatrro Global Services company, has achieved yet another milestone delivering 5 million abstracts of patents, book chapters, technical articles, standards etc. in various languages for several global information providers.

Scope, started its abstraction services about a decade ago in 2003. Scope progressively migrated from a pure human curated abstraction service provider over the years with increasing adoption of technology in its delivery process into a techno-human provider. After crossing a million abstracts milestone in 2008, Scope quickly scaled to 3 million in 2011. Thereafter Scope accelerated and reached the 4 million abstract mark in June 2013. Now in a record time of only 9 months, Scope has delivered another one million abstracts bringing the mark to 5 million total abstracts. This has all been made possible thanks to the continuous enhancements and upgrades to its proprietary content abstraction and metadata enrichment platform - ConSCIse 1.4, with capability to deliver descriptive metadata for enhanced discoverability and accurate contextual relevancy. Keeping in line with the ever-changing demands of the industry, Scope ensures the constant upgrade of its tools and enhancement of its expertise.

With the techno-human approach of using the platform software and subject matter experts (SMEs), Scope now processes over 30,000 abstracts in a week, regardless of the document type. Furthermore, Scope has adopted Kaizen, CIP and Lean six sigma approaches for its process velocity enhancements, productivity and scalability.

Commenting on this achievement, Tram Venkatraman, President of Scope, said, “We would like to thank our clients for their immense trust and encouragement to Scope. Our strong teams, together with the experience gained over a decade, strive to consistently deliver high-quality results to exceed client requirements every time.”

M.A. Eswaran, Senior Vice President of Scope, said, “We work proactively to deliver the current industry needs, at any given time, and thus remained as the preferred knowledge partner for several global information aggregators. With improved discoverability through content enhancements, Scope ensures a competitive edge to our customers.”
