911: peace blogs marathon started today. Remember September 11th victims and blog for world peace
This synchronized blogging, also known as blog carnival, has been already featured by peers and media, mainly in USA, UK and Italy. Podcasting forums also reviewed it, inviting podcasters to speak about peace for the coming days. The initiative has also been discussed on crowd sourcing website, where Web 2.0 users have been invited to give their opinion about World Peace, 911 anniversary and peace blogging. Other sites, such as European Social Network www.smileur.com are supporting the initiative.
After September 11th, MyPacis.com will provide a blog aggregator offering, in one RSS and Atom feed, all the blogs taking part in the marathon, plus posts related to 911 and world peace. Once the 2007 edition of this synchronized peace blogging is over, the feed aggregator will stay in place to provide an overview on the bloghospere peace-related discussions. The feed will be enhanced with updates about relevant podcasts, news and Web 2.0 activism.
Users are invited to blog about this event, sharing their favourite posts about 911 and world peace using Web 2.0 sites and social bookmarking services such as Delicious, Digg, Reddit, etc. Also, activists with language skills would be welcome, to spread the voice in other countries and reach locall users. This initiative will be successful only if it brings together people with different background and opinions, to democratically discuss their views and honestly searching for a way to live in peace.
Some critics objected that peace need tangible acts and not just only Web 2.0 activism. MyPacis.com answer is that they are right. Web 2.0 activism is one way to ignite discussion and support peace, then of course what really matters is to live accorndingly to our ethic and bring peace to the world.
