New Congress online from the 09th of November
Next generation sequencing and high throughput screening technologies are revolutionizing our current molecular understanding of cancer. Molecular tumor profiles can now be established at affordable cost within a timeframe compatible with clinical practice. It is anticipated, that biomarker-based patient selection will soon move to the forefront of effective cancer treatment.
Markers in Cancer, a joint meeting by ASCO, EORTC & NCI, (held in Brussels, Belgium, 7-9 November 2013) will focus on the relevance and the feasibility of implementing emerging technologies into clinical practice. Moreover a tutorial on biomarker development dealing with issues related to next generation trial design (5-7 November 2013) will precede the Main Meeting and is open to early career oncologists.
The Informed Scientist is going to publish presentations and results of the Main Meeting from the 09h of November already. Selected video presentations will thus be available to the scientific community immediately.
All content on www.informed-scientist.org can be accessed free of charge at any time. As Dr. habil. Raimund Wieser, who initiated the video portal, explains: “The free distribution of international research results aims at helping to increase the quality of medical research worldwide. Furthermore, individuals concerned with certain ailments, such as members of self-help groups, for example, are able to get a firsthand account of the current state of affairs regarding the research related to their disease. Video webcasts are the perfect time- and location-independent medium.”
