spicystyles award second online retail franchise to UK partner
(London/Bamberg, October 2013) Online Fashion Store 'spicystyles' has awarded its second international franchise. Their new partner Spicy Fashion UK Limited is based in Walton-on-Thames in Greater London, and will promote to UK consumers the brand that has been so popular among trendsetters in Germany. The offices, warehouse and running of the website for spicystyles.co.uk all sit in the UK. Marcel Dusold, founder and managing director of spicystyles KG, is pleased with the new partner: "We are proud to award another franchise to the UK, after having awarded a franchise to Switzerland last year. For us this is an exciting new way of expanding our business internationally. spicystyles UK have the same concept and design and most importantly the same dedication to its customers as the German spicystyles original and offers young and quirky fashion, which is not available on every high street."
In turn, the UK partners benefit from the Germans’ expertise in e-commerce. "Looking at what the guys from spicystyles have built over the past three years I can only say," Well done!" explains Christian Bennewitz, director of spicystyles UK. Although we are independent, we will not be left alone in this venture," says Bennewitz, "we are supported by a strong team. spicystyles UK is run by owners Catherine and Christian Bennewitz, both of whom bring a wealth of experience in home shopping, marketing and customer service into this partnership.
"We are looking to expand the international team even further," says Marcel Dusold: "Over the next two years we plan to add three more franchisees in Europe." By doing this the family-run business sets itself apart from its competition in the online retail market without losing the charm of being a niche provider. Dusold: "Our customers don’t need to worry that we are a virtual smorgasbord. We will continue our concept of 'small but excellent' and offer individual customer service in a world of impersonal online trading."
The UK web store has been online since June 2013, offering the same fashion and lifestyle product range which is so popular in Germany and Switzerland. "We're now in the middle of preparations for this year's Christmas shopping season. After making adjustments for the UK market in the first few months, we will now expand the product range gradually and also add one or two other country-specific brands into our product range. Watch this space!" says Christian Bennewitz.
The name 'spicystyles' was born on a beach during a family holiday in Thailand. Inspired by the delicious, spicy food, the company founders finally decided on the name after a two-months long search. It had always been clear to include the component ‘style’ into name, as the aim was to establish the company in the fashion scene on a global scale. Consequently, after weeks of contemplating the name spicystyles was created.
The idea is to offer customers fashion and lifestyle products from around the world. The spicystyles team carefully selects brands to put together an truly international range of products that meets the taste of customers who want products that are a bit special and not available on every high street. The brands come from Brazil, Australia, USA, France, Germany, Netherlands and other countries. At spicystyles customers will find unique and individual designs for customers who choose fashion labels that go beyond mainstream. Some of the fashion products are a bit quirky - which is also part of the spicystyles concept.
The first spicystyles online store was founded by Marcel Dusold in Germany in 2010 and expanded as a franchise into Switzerland in 2012. The United Kingdom is the second franchise-based international expansion and opened in 2013. spicystyles UK is run by its owners Catherine & Christian Bennewitz and their small team who all are passionate about bringing these unique brands to the UK.
