Dr. Leigh-Davis and TV Show Profiles in Philanthropy are Profiling in the UK

Dr. Leigh-Davis and the television show Profiles in Philanthropy are back from hiatus with all new episodes, featuring many endeavors in the United Kingdom.

The TV show "Profiles in Philanthropy" hosted by Dr. Leigh-Davis, has been giving entertaining coverage of philanthropic endeavors, for some years now. In an age when most people only want to talk about what Miley Cyrus did at the MTV Video Music Awards; "Profiles in Philanthropy" shows other positive aspects of some of the most controversial celebrities. "We entertain with music and the storyline, but we don't have celebrity gossip," states Krissy Jennings, a producer on the show.

Although "Profiles in Philanthropy" is a television show dedicated to any and all charitable efforts, in order to increase the entertainment value, the show often focuses on top celebrities and their charitable work. However, nearly each episode has a segment dedicated to local and lesser known charitable organizations that lack a celebrity spokesperson. A staple of the show, are PSAs (public service announcements,) which often air for the first time on "Profiles in Philanthropy" and feature some of the biggest celebrities in the world: (Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry.)

This season, host Dr. Leigh-Davis gives an exposé on captive animals and the tragedies that have ensued from such captivity, and the organizations trying to make things better. Included is a profile of The Captive Animals' Protection Society of the United Kingdom. The Captive Animals’ Protection Society (CAPS) is a UK-based charity leading the campaign to end the use of animals in entertainment. Through a combination of undercover investigations, research, campaigns, political lobbying and education; CAPS aims to stop the exploitation of animals in entertainment, particularly in circuses, zoos, and the exotic pet trade.

The television show "Profiles in Philanthropy” hosted by Dr. Leigh-Davis, has been regularly airing in syndication and is available on iTunes.
