Blood Donation. A CSR initiative by Earth Infrastructures Ltd.

With the motto "Give the gift of life: donate blood", Earth Infrastructures Limited organized a Blood Donation Camp at the Naraina Office on Saturday the September 14th 2103. Towards this CSR activity, roughly 75 employees of Earth Infrastructures Limited voluntarily participated in making the camp very successful which was conducted in association with the Lions Club.
The focus was on the value of donated blood to the disadvantaged and not so fortunate, not only in saving life, but also in helping people live longer and more productive lives.
Though it wasn’t the first time nor will it be the last when such a noble CSR activity was encouraged and organized by Earth Infrastructures Ltd with an altruistic mind and a very diligent endeavor to raise awareness of the need to contribute towards a social and a genuine cause.
Centuries ago, sick people were bled, deliberately, in the belief that it might save their lives. These days we know better: The need for blood is limitless. Every two seconds, someone in India requires it; more than 38,000 donations are needed every day of the year. Since blood cannot be made synthetically, it has to come from people's generosity. Processed into its components—red cells, platelets, and plasma—one pint can help as many as three people. But the shelf life is limited: for regular red blood cells, it's just 42 days. And only 5 percent of those who are eligible to donate.

Just after the donation when asked how he's feeling, Mr. Amit Kumar Sinha, one of the staff members at Earth Infrastructure Ltd said, with a sidelong grin, "I'm overwhelmed! But I'm glad to be a part of my organization’s blood-donating camp."
There was a general albeit a very noble feeling amongst all the blood donors that they were making a lifesaving contribution that benefits accident victims, cancer patients, surgical candidates, children with blood disorders and many others.
