Sophie Lovell is the new Editor-in-Chief of Uncube Magazine

The English language online architecture magazine Uncube published by BauNetz Media has a new editor-in-chief: from September onwards, Sophie Lovell will head up the Berlin-based editorial team. “With her journalistic skills, international network and bilingual abilities, Sophie Lovell was our ideal candidate to take Uncube to the next level”, says Managing Director Jürgen Paul.

Born in London, Sophie Lovell is an established author, editor and curator in the fields of architecture and design. She is the editor-at-large for Wallpaper* magazine in Germany (since 2000), was architecture and design editor for Qvest magazine and has written for a range of other publications including Frame, The Independent on Sunday, Icon magazine, Monocle and the Financial Times. She was until recently the executive editor of form magazine. In addition she has made a name for herself as an author of a number of books, including the Dieter Rams biography “As Little Design as Possible” (Phaidon) and is a frequent participant at international juries and symposia.

Uncube is a digital magazine dedicated to “architecture and beyond” and brings a whole new alternative online magazine typology in the media landscape. The twelve issues published so far include in depth profiles on the architects Charles Correa and Manuelle Gautrand as well as themes ranging from “Concrete” to “Constructing Images” and “Perspectives on Design”. The Uncube blog also delivers selected reports and positions on current discussion topics in the field of architecture – and beyond.

Uncube magazine was launched in August 2012 and has already received the Annual Multimedia Award and the German Trade Press Award. The website has also been nominated in the category: “Web Magazine of the Year” for the Lead Awards 2013.
