Increased SGS Testing Capabilities for Juvenile Products in France and Shanghai

Updates on testing capabilities for juvenile products – SGS Shanghai and SGS France.

Toddler Beds Testing in SGS Shanghai

SGS Shanghai (China) is now able to conduct testing on toddler beds according to NF D 60-300-4: 2012.

This standard defines the safety requirements and test methods for domestic toddler beds for children of approximately 18 months and able to get off alone of their cot and which sleeping surface has a length inferior or equal to 1400 mm.

Wider Juvenile Products Testing Scope in SGS France

SGS Aix en Provence (France) has extended its testing scope and offers now testing services on carriers for young children including:

- Framed baby carriers according to EN 13209-1
- Soft baby carriers according to EN 13209-2
- Slings baby carriers (Type Examination)

Armed with these new testing capabilities, SGS Aix en Provence reinforces its position of competence center for the juvenile products industry in Europe.

Existing testing capabilities in SGS Aix en Provence cover:

- Changing Units (NF EN 12221)
- Children’s cots and folding cots for domestic use (NF EN 716)
- Cribs (NF EN 1130)
- High Chairs (NF EN 14988)
- Playpens (NF EN 12227)
- Wheeled child conveyances (NF EN 1888)
- Carry cots and stands (NF EN 1466)
- Reclined cradles (NF EN 12790)

Update on Juvenile Products Standards

Three revised standards will enter into force from September 15, 2013:

- Wheeled child conveyances (EN 1888)
- Safety barriers (EN 1930)
- Playpens (EN 12227)
