Sun Resorts: New General Managers at Long Beach and Sugar Beach

Sun Resorts is pleased to announce the appointment of Christian Jaquier as General Manager of Long Beach effective as from July 1 2022. He succeeds Jean-Marc Ma-Poon who now takes the management of Sugar Beach. This 5* hotel on the west coast has been completely renovated and has new rooms and new interior and exterior spaces, including the refurbishment of the manor house, lobby and main restaurant. With an international experience and service-oriented, Jean-Marc will put his expertise to make this resort a reference in the Mauritian hotel industry.

Holder of a BSc in Management Information Systems and General Management (Marketing & Operations) and with over 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Christian is a seasoned hotelier with a successful history in leading international luxury five-star hotel operations. Aged 44 he is Suisse and Chinese. He started his career as Conference Services Assistant at The Ritz-Carlton Lodge, Lake Oconee, USA and climbed up the ladder to occupy various positions at Management level in guest relations, front office and housekeeping in multiple properties within The Ritz-Carlton, where he stayed for 11 years.
Most recently, he held the position of Hotel Manager at AYANA Resort and Spa in Bali, where he spent 7 years.
