Berlin turns capital of coffee
From 17th to 19th September Berlin turns into the German capital of coffee. Then the 3rd Kaffee Campus, organized by the German Roasters Guild, takes place at the Kosmos Berlin – a MUST event for all caffeine fans.Berlin, 03/06/2013 | The Kaffee Campus, held in Berlin, will be this year`s leading specialty coffee event in Germany! With a broad programme comprising seminars, workshops and lectures on all topics coffee, with tastings, live roasting, a coffee exhibition, networking opportunities and the German Barista Championship, the three-day event is mandatory for all coffee lovers throughout Germany.
The Kaffee Campus is organized by the German Roasters Guild (Deutsche Roestergilde e.V.), a registered special interest group representing specialty coffee roasters. This year the Kaffee Campus is held in cooperation with the German chapter of the SCAE (Specialty Coffee Association of Europe). In the course of the event also the German Barista Championship is carried out from 17th to 19th September. The winner represents Germany during the World Barista Championship 2014 in the Italian city of Rimini.
What does coffee look like unroasted, how is it cultivated? How is coffee roasted, what do you have to pay attention to during its preparation? What are the finest coffees of the world and what is an Aero-Press? Answers to all of these questions and many more are given at the Kaffee Campus. Coffee producers, green coffee traders, coffee roasters, baristas, machine manufacturers etc. get together at the Kosmos Berlin during lectures, workshops, competitions and the accompanying exhibition.
