Doubly good: the Shuttle XPC Barebones SG31G2 for the office and SG31G5 for the home
Shuttle XPC Barebones with Intel G31 Express Chipset
Shuttle Inc, small form factor (SFF) PC market leader and manufacturer of multi form factor solutions, today introduced two more products from its successful XPC Barebones range. Designed for use in the office, and at home, the new models are ideal foundations on which to build a PC system utilising multi-core Intel processors.
These all-rounders are available in two chassis variations. The Shuttle XPC Barebone SG31G2 features the proven styling of the G2 design, whereas the SG31G5 sports the pure looks of the G5. For a larger display area, and greater convenience when working, both models are capable of supporting up to two monitors, thanks to their Intel GMA 3100 graphics.
"With the SG31G5, as with as the G2, we're offering an ideal platform for powerful small form factor PC systems, based on Intel technology," explains Tom Seiffert, Head of Marketing & PR at Shuttle Computer Handels GmbH. "The integrated Intel G31 Express chipset supports soon to be available 45 nm processors, thereby equipping these PCs for the future."
With up to 4 GB of DDR2 800 RAM, they also have more than enough memory for demanding applications, and their gigabit LAN guarantees the maximum transfer of data through networks. Windows Vista runs without any problems, thanks to the integrated DirectX 9 compatible Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3100, and the necessary drivers supplied with the PCs. And for even greater 3D performance, the PCI Express X16 slot can accommodate the latest graphics cards.
Shuttle's patented Heatpipe Cooling technology, with its variable speed control, automatically ensures that everything's taken care of inside of the high-quality aluminium Shuttle XPC Barebones, so guaranteeing both the greatest stability and super quiet operation.
Long life solid capacitors, colour marked slots, a powerful 250-Watt power supply, 8-channel HD audio, 6x USB, 2x FireWire, and a 32 bit PCI slot round off these 300(L) x 200(W) x 185(H) sized computers.

Both of these Shuttle XPC Barebones will be available in the beginning of September. Shuttle's recommended retail price is EUR 227 for the SG31G2, and EUR 252 for the SG31G5 (without VAT).
