GéNIA's album 'Voyages français' was due to be released on the 18th of March 2022, but due to the war in Ukraine, the release has been postponed, as Ukraine is GéNIA's homeland country (she was born in Kharkiv). However, she feels that we cannot let the aggressor stop the music, especially, when it is music, which greatly supports us in these difficult times! Hence GéNIA is releasing her album on the 15th of April 2022.

The album 'Voyages français' was inspired by the composer's frequent journeys to France, the country where GéNIA first started to compose, influenced by the nature, art, local food and, many wonderful people whom she met on her journeys.

The 'Voyages français' album is a kind of musical diary, very personal and intimate. It is dedicated to the composer's ten different experiences travelling to France, memories of which will remain with her throughout her life.

The album starts with 'Valse à la française' (inspired by the composer's summer visits to the south of France), followed by 'Jean' (dedicated to a young intelligent 9-year old French boy with big sad eyes) and 'Where am I?' (about the dilemma of relocation to France), and then 'Voyages français', the key track of the album, which is almost a celebratory musical statement of the French lifestyle.

Next, the tracks 'Lever du Soleil' and 'St Paul' (dedicated to Saint-Paul-de-Vence, a beautiful village in the south of France, which overlooks the sea and bursts with large artistic communities). GéNIA continues with 'Claude', 'St Michelle' and 'Whisper' - all beautiful mellow compositions, with each one telling a personal story behind it, and, finally, culminating in the most dynamic piece of all 'Landscapes of the Mind', which offers a diverse outlook on the composer's journey.

The album concludes with the bonus track: 'Whisper for Piano and Voice', an alternative version of 'Whisper', where GéNIA softly recites a poem which celebrates life.

GéNIA has been releasing compositions from the album 'Voyages français' one by one since April 2021. The title track of the album 'Voyages français' is going to be released on the 15th of April together with the full album. Her latest release 'Landscapes of the Mind' gained 75,707 streams. The composition from her album 'Valse å la française' recently appeared in the highly acclaimed BBC America series 'Killing Eve' (Season 4) and piece 'Claude' in the ITV psychological drama series 'Close to Me'.

All the music is composed, performed, and produced by GéNIA. It was recorded at her studio on Steinway & Sons Grand Piano Model S No 282028. The tracks 'Whisper for Piano and Voice', 'Landscapes of the Mind' and 'Where am I?' was co-produced with Hayden Parsey. Mastered by Cicely Balston at AIR Studios, London.

GéNIA is also releasing 200 Limited Edition copies of the album which will be numbered and stamped.

About GéNIA

Described by The Times as "an outstanding musician", Ukrainian-born concert pianist turned composer, GéNIA, recently enjoyed success with her previous album 'Babylon', whilst her music enjoyed placements in the critically acclaimed BBC America TV Series 'Killing Eve', well-known numerous British ITV Series: 'Cold Feet', 'Sticks and Stones' and a newly released physiological thriller 'Close to Me'.

GéNIA's music compositions can be heard on Classic FM, Scala Radio, BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 3, BBC London Radio 94.9, BBC World Service. London News TV Channel, Talk Radio, BBC Radio Wales, BBC Radio Bristol to name just a few, as well as TV series and adverts.

In the past GéNIA has recorded albums for Universal Production Music released on Chappell Label, Nonclassical Label (run by Gabriel Prokofiev), Black Box Label with the multi-Grammy nominated record producer Chris Craker, and her own label GéNIA MUSIC, working with the triple-BAFTA award winner and six-time Emmy nominee, sound engineer Nigel Heath.

Described by Gramophone magazine as "a charismatic pianist", GéNIA is known for her enthralling stage presence. She comes from a distinguished line of Russian pianists and was taught by her great-grandmother, the renowned pedagogue Regina Horowitz, the sister of pianist Vladimir Horowitz. Later she gained scholarships to The Guildhall School of Music and Drama and Trinity College of Music in London.

GéNIA made her London debut as a concert pianist in the Park Lane Group Young Artist Series, which was followed by concert tours in the UK, Europe and USA. London venues include Wigmore Hall, Barbican, Southbank Centre, Olympia, Kings Place, The Other Palace, St. John's Smith Square and St. Martin in the Fields.

Being a passionate yoga enthusiast (GéNIA has a qualified BWV yoga teaching diploma), GéNIA created the Piano-Yoga® method, an holistic piano technique for pianists and other musicians. In her compositions Piano-Yoga® manifests through the atmosphere it transmits to her listeners: from relaxation and meditation to a deep range of emotions, her music stirs core feelings in her audience, helping then to connect with their inner self. GéNIA's music evokes grounding especially needed in the current climate, where mindfulness is a key to survival in our present difficult reality.
