GLOBALG.A.P. TOUR 2013 event in Tel Aviv in collaboration with Fresh AgroMashov
GLOBALG.A.P. is more than just a certificate. It’s a vision of global safe and sustainable agricultural production made possible through GLOBALG.A.P.’s tools, programs and partners. To spread this vision and present its tools for change, leading GLOBALG.A.P. experts travel around the world on the GLOBALG.A.P. TOUR 2013 to introduce GLOBALG.A.P. principles and products, engage leading stakeholders around the world, and unite them behind the common mission of upgrading producers’ good agricultural practices.
With events in Argentina, Ecuador, Mexico, South Africa and China, for its next stop GLOBALG.A.P. is heading to Israel. Currently 1,370 producers are GLOBALG.A.P. certified in Israel for products covering varieties of capsicums, grapefruit, pomegranates, avocados, mandarins, dates, mangoes, persimmons, tomatoes and various herbs. Israel exports much of its produce to various major markets around the world and many of the country’s producers rely on GLOBALG.A.P. Certification to demonstrate their commitment to Good Agricultural Practice and so gain wider access to new markets and business opportunities.
The GLOBALG.A.P. TOUR 2013 event in Tel Aviv will be held in collaboration with Fresh AgroMashov - International Fresh Produce Summit & Exhibition. The event will introduce GLOBALG.A.P. and its new products and certification system and aims to increase transparency and stakeholder engagement for sustainable agricultural production.
Andras Fekete, GLOBALG.A.P. Manager CB Administration & Integrity, will discuss the current status and trends in Israel, highlight GLOBALG.A.P. solutions for linking producers to market demand as well as satisfying retailer demands and requirements, and provide an overview of the GLOBALG.A.P. certification process, development and forecast.
