Meet Local Moms

Meet Local Moms

Mom Meet Mom (http://mommeetmome.com), a new website offering an innovative new way of bringing likeminded, local moms together, has announced it will officially launch in the Boston, MA area in spring of 2013.

Following a model based on dating sites, Mom Meet Mom takes the guesswork and anxiety out of forging meaningful connections with other mothers and planning playdates by helping moms find friends whose children, schedules, interests, parenting styles, and outlooks are most similar.

"Finding moms you can relate to isn't always easy," said Mom Meet Mom co-founder Christa Terry. "And making good friends is even harder. Google 'moms meeting moms' and you'll find articles and blog posts describing how difficult and how stressful it is to meet other moms. The playground can be incredibly cliquish. Working moms have scheduling issues. Some moms just need extra support!

"Julia, my co-founder, and I know from experience that it's especially hard when you're balancing a career and family, have just moved to a new location, are parenting a special needs child, are a single parent, or are part of a gay, biracial, or blended family. We wanted to give every mom a chance to find friendship in their own communities and online."

The site's Boston, MA launch will debut the full functionality for users in the New England area. Moms nationwide will be able to sign up for Mom Meet Mom, but will have to wait for certain features until the coming nationwide launch. Until then, moms and other caregivers can sign up for the launch or to beta test the site at http://mommeetmom.com, or connect with Christa and Julia at https://www.facebook.com/MomMeetMom and https://twitter.com/MomMeetMom.

Mom Meet Mom is a fun new website that takes the stress out of meeting other mothers and finding playdates for kids by using specially chosen criteria to match up local moms with similar interests, schedules, families, concerns, and personalities. From there, it’s up to moms! Mom Meet Mom users can jump right in and schedule a playdate or coffee date with one or more mommy matches or take it slow and get to know potential friends right on the website before meeting in person.

Mom Meet Mom, a woman-owned and operated company, was co-founded in 2012 by Julia High and Christa Terry. Julia is a computational cognitive neuroscientist-cum-social media strategist-cum-stay at home mom. Julia was inspired to create Mom Meet Mom after her own experiences trying to find mommy friends after moving across the country with her then 18-month-old. Christa is an author and editorial specialist with a focus on writing for the web and social media integration. As a working mother with a four-year-old and a newborn, she has found it difficult to find local moms whose schedules are similar.
