Beyond The Grave, winner of Best Horror Feature at 2013 Winter Film Awards

Winter Film Awards is pleased to announce that "Beyond The Grave", directed by Davi de Oliveira Pinheiro, has won Best Horror Feature Film at the WFA 2013 Independent Film Festival, held February 28-March 2 2013 in New York City.

Producer Isidoro B. Guggiana says "To receive such a prize is really inspirational. Doing films with a micro-budget is a really difficult and sometimes tiring task and to be recognized among our peers is one of the great values."

The Brazilian horror film takes place in a devastated post-apocalyptic world where the rules of reality are transformed by magic and madness. A vengeful police officer searches for a possessed serial killer in a battle of the not-so-good versus absolute evil.

Davi de Oliveira Pinheiro is a writer, producer and director. Davi produced the documentary feature series "Boundaries of Thought" and the five episodes of the on-line series "Think Thank" starring David Lynch, Wim Wenders, among others. Beyond the Grave is his debut as a feature director. Visit for more information.

The 2nd Annual WINTER FILM AWARDS Independent Film Festival began Thursday, Feb 28 with 3 days of screenings and after-parties. The event offered something for everyone, highlighting the dynamic range of storytelling the independent filmmaking community has to offer. Among the 58 films selected was a diverse mix of documentaries, shorts, features, animation, music videos and horror films from all over the world. Visit for more information.
