Can digitalization still be saved by coaching?

New systemic coaching agency aims to significantly increase success rate of IT transformations.

(Munich, 25.01.2022) According to a study by the consulting institute McKinsey, 70% of IT transformations fail worldwide. At the same time, they are essential in our fast-paced world to avoid risks and maintain competitiveness. With her newly founded company Longma, physicist Dr. Karin Klimt aims to lead digitalization projects to success with systemic coaching.

The success of a digital transformation project depends largely on three factors:
- A clear vision of which goals are to be achieved
- Conviction and Cooperation of the employees
- Choosing a technology that fits the task at hand

Meanwhile, the corporate reality looks different:
Employees get not from the very beginning involved in planning the transformation. Accordingly, the challenges are not sufficiently analyzed before the technology is chosen. As a result, there is no clear vision of the direction of the company's future. The people react with a lack of understanding, refusal and fear about the professional future.

"Usually, it is overlooked that the real factor for the success of a transformation is the human being," says Longma founder, Dr. Karin Klimt. "The project is meticulously planned in terms of technologies, process and costs, but the people are forgotten. Due to the lack of cooperation of the employees, the project is delayed, and competitiveness decreases instead of increasing. Subsequent bonus payments or other retention attempts due not solve the problem."

The founder spent 20 years at the global leading IT service provider Amadeus Data Processing, including 10 years as a leader of transcontinental agile teams. There she led numerous agile IT projects, restructurings, outsourcings and mergers of locations and is therefore familiar with the success factors of IT transformations. After becoming certified as a systemic coach, she founded Longma to help other companies to successfully execute their transformations together with the employees and minimize risk factors.
