AMA Enterprise Offers Complimentary Government Briefing April

ARLINGTON, VA – February 25, 2013 – The American Management Association (AMA) Enterprise Government Solutions, the global leader of talent transformation dedicated to providing workplace learning for government organizations, has announced that Dr. Haywood Spangler will be speaking at their April 17 complimentary government briefing. This briefing, for government HR and Training and Development professionals, will focus on enhancing government leaders’ critical thinking skills.

The briefing, specifically designed for government professionals, will provide attendees with the tools they need to develop the critical thinking skills necessary to tackle the unique challenges facing government today. Dr. Spangler, the co-developer of AMA Enterprise’s Critical Thinking seminar for government organizations, will outline a roadmap for developing these important skills, and will facilitate an interactive exercise as part of the briefing, to provide attendees an example of how to learn this vital skill.

According to a recent AMA survey of U.S. managers and executives, more than half of them say there is significant room for improvement in critical skills competencies among their employees. This takes on more urgency, as three out of four (74.6%) of those surveyed said that these skills will become more important to their organizations in the next three to five years.

The briefing will help government employees discover how these skills allow you to challenge old assumptions; rethink conventional approaches in the context of today’s realities; choose the right techniques to identify important information, recognize assumptions and draw conclusions; and learn tools and tips on applying critical thinking in the government workplace.

“Designed specifically to meet the unique needs of government organizations, we believe this briefing will provide insights and proven techniques for teaching critical thinking skills,” said Sam Davis, Vice President, AMA Enterprise Government Solutions. “Critical thinking is a cornerstone of leadership development. Training in this area is crucial to helping government organizations retain the professionals they need to stay strong and viable.”

The April 17 briefing will take place at AMA’s Executive Conference Center in Arlington, VA, starting with a complimentary breakfast at 8:00am. The presentation will run from 8:45-11:30am, and all attendees will receive a complimentary copy of Into the Storm, by Dennis N.T. Perkins. Admission is free for government HR and Training and Development professionals; to register for this event, please call 1-877-880-0264 or click here.
