Press release from: Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck

/ PR Agency: The Public Relations & Marketing Group
This year, Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck is hosting a series of open houses for prospective campers and families of children and young adults with special needs. Parents should bring their children if they are to be a new camper this summer.
During the tour, parents will have a chance to meet the year-round staff — camp director, nurse and office manager — and ask questions or address any concerns that they might have. In addition, they will have the opportunity to see the new dining hall that will accommodate more campers during mealtime.
The open houses will be held on the following dates and times:
● February 17, 10 a.m.–2 p.m.
● March 24, 5-9 p.m.
● April 28, 11 a.m.–4 p.m.
● May 17, 6-9 p.m.
Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck is a resident summer camp serving children and young adults ages six to 21 with both physical and developmental special needs. Its mission is to help these children to achieve equality, dignity, and maximum independence through a safe and quality program of camping, recreation, and education. Throughout the program, campers participate in many activities, such as arts and crafts, talent shows, cook-outs, swimming and boating.

The camp is located on Chet Swezey Road in Center Moriches. For directions or more information, call (631) 878-1070 or visit www.camppaquatuck.com.

Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck was created by members of the Moriches Rotary Club in 1946. Located on the shores of Kaler's Pond on eastern Long Island, Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck is funded entirely by donations and is a special place where children and young adults with physical and developmental disabilities can experience first hand the pleasures that an active life has to offer. They participate in a wide range of activities especially designed for those who are in wheelchairs as well as those who are ambulatory. These activities include swimming, boating, arts and crafts, petting zoo, talent shows, cook-outs, games and a Carnival Day. The program also provides educational activities in areas such as nature, arts, fire safety and communication skills.
