Press release from: Fleming Gulf Conferences

South America is witnessing a major boom with regards to infrastructure development.Fleming Gulf presents LatAm Rail Opportunities 2013 in Sao Paulo, Brazil on 5-6 March 2013 to discuss on the prospects Latin American railroad industry.

Body: Latin America is on a fast track development with regards to infrastructure and development. Brazilian rail industry has witnessed a major boom in recent years, the primary reasons for which are the recent discovery of deep sea oil fields and Brazil hosting 2014 FIFA world cup and the 2016 Olympics.

The Government has launched various programs encouraging public-private partnerships thereby presenting opportunities to a lot of local and international players. Fleming Gulf will be organizing LatAm Rail Opportunities 2013 in Sao Paulo, Brazil on 5-6 March 2013 to discuss and debate on the prospects Latin American railroad industry holds.

Mario Dirani, Railway Infrastructure Director - Brazil at National Department of Transport Infrastructure (DNIT) who will be speaking on 'updates on rail infrastructure development in Latin America' shared his thoughts on major opportunities in the Latin America railroad industry. He stated, "Last August, President Dilma launched the Program of Investments in Logistics, with US$ 65 billions dedicated to roadways and railways. US$ 45 billions will be applied to construction/reconfiguration of 10,000 km of railways for the next 25 years. This program's objective is to rescue railways as a logistic alternative, as well as to break the monopoly in offer of rail services, with an expected reduction of fares. The recently created state-owned company EPL - Empresa de Planejamento e Logística, directed by Mr. Bernardo Figueiredo, will evaluate all these railway projects, to determine how can they be feasible, if by means of a concession to a private company to build an operate, or by means of a Public-Private Partnership".

As reported on Rail.Co's website, bidding for Rio – Sao Paulo high-speed rail line has been opened by Brazil’s National Transportation Agency (ANTT). The bid will cover operation and maintenance activities for the next 40 years. According to spanishrailwaysnews.com, Spanish railway technology is in huge demand in Venezuela, Mexico, Chile and Brazil. These developments are giving rise to new advancements in South America.

These developments and more will be discussed by speakers representing organizations like Metro Rio, Ministry of Planning-Brazil, London Underground, Via Quatro, Metro Sao Paulo, Moxa, Bechtel and Rail Development Corporation among others. Attend the conference to be a part of the developments in and around Brazil.

Latin American railways are on a sure track to progress. Be there at LatAm Rail Opportunities 2013 in Sao Paulo, Brazil on 5-6 March 2013 to witness the developments.
