WCC SMART SEARCH & MATCH APPOINTS NEW CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD - Company Poised to Become the Global Leader in the Identity Matching Market

UTRECHT, Netherlands, and PALO ALTO, Calif., July 24, 2007 – WCC Smart Search & Match, the leading provider of high-performance search and match software, today announced the appointment of Christer Bergman as Chairman of the Board. Alexander Knottenbelt, who has served as Chairman since 1999, will help transition Bergman into his new role over the next couple of months. Knottenbelt is responsible for guiding the company’s successful track record in the employment, enterprise content management, and ecommerce industries. He and the executive team at WCC have maintained the tradition of strong cash flow and impressive organic growth.

A well-known business leader in the security and biometrics industry, Bergman is a member of the board of the International Biometrics Industry Association (IBIA) and is active in the Smart Card Alliance. He served as president and CEO of Precise Biometrics from 2000 – 2006, and on the company’s board of directors from 2005-2007.
Prior to his most recent work, Bergman has served as president and CEO of VIDAR Systems Corporation, regional director of Informix Software Scandinavia and sales director for Hewlett-Packard Sweden.
