New Head of Sales in the Jenoptik’s Business Unit Lasers.

Since mid-November 2012, Michael Fichtner is the new Head of Sales in the Lasers business unit of the Jenoptik’s Lasers & Material Processing division.

In addition to his degree in engineering, Michael Fichtner has gained an MBA degree within the scope of additional studies. He has many years of experience in the fields of sales and product management as well as excellent knowledge of the optoelectronic industry.

Prior to joining Jenoptik, he worked for Oclaro, Inc. as a Regional Sales and Key Account Manager. One of his earlier positions was that of a European Head of Sales at PerkinElmer Optoelectronics and Intense (formerly HPD).

Jenoptik sells its innovative laser systems worldwide and is one of the world's few providers of the complete technology chain in the field of laser sources – from the semiconductor material through diode lasers up to solid-state lasers – with high quality and process reliability and in series. Jenoptik lasers are recognized as extraordinary reliable, efficient and high-performing, being used especially in the industrial and medical technology. Jenoptik relies on innovative and pioneering lasers, such as the high power diode lasers, disk and fiber lasers.

About the Jenoptik Lasers & Material Processing division

Jenoptik’s Lasers & Material Processing division has control of the entire value-added chain of laser material processing and it is one of the leading providers – from component through to complete system. In the area of laser, Jenoptik has specialized in high-quality semiconductor materials and reliable diode lasers as well as innovative solid-state lasers, for example disk and fiber lasers. In the area of high power diode lasers Jenoptik is acknowledged worldwide as a leader in quality for high power diode lasers. These laser sources are used, among other things, in the areas of laser material processing, medical technology and show & entertainment. In the area of laser processing systems we develop systems that are integrated into production facilities for our customers as part of their process optimization and automation. These systems enable our customers to work with plastics, metals, glass and thin-film solar cells with maximum efficiency, precision and safety.
