The newly launched products extended the company’s range of RF solutions and deliver high power-added efficiency (PAE) in small, industry-standard packages. These products are designed for a wide array of pulsed and continuous-wave X-band phased array applications, including weather surveillance, marine, and unmanned aerial system radars.

In December 2020, Qorvo launched the industry’s highest power GaN MMIC power amplifier (PA), which delivers up to 100 W of saturated power in a small quad-flat, no-leads (QFN) package. The new MMIC PA is designed for C-band applications such as aerospace and defense applications.

In August 2020, MACOM launched the GaN-on-SiC Carbide (SiC) power amplifier product line at the virtual International Microwave Symposium (IMS). The products, namely, MAPC-A1000 and MAPC-A1100 enhance the capability of the existing RF Power product portfolio. MAPC-A1000 is designed to operate between 30 MHz and 2.7 GHz, whereas MAPC-A1100 is designed to operate up to 3.5 GHz. Both the general-purpose amplifier products are ideal for use in high-power mobile radios, avionics, wireless systems, and test instrumentation.

In August 2020, GaN Systems announced 65W high power density quasi-resonant (QR) charger reference design targeted for the consumer electronics market to address the accelerated consumer demand for more energy-efficient and faster-charging devices. This design will make it straightforward for power system designers to develop high-performance charging solutions.
