Axceleon At HP-CAST 19: Exploring Software Delivery & HPC Workflow Choices In Public Clouds
The topic of the Axceleon presentation is “Exploring software delivery and high performance computing (HPC) workflow choices for companies in the public cloud”. Cloud based computing has been used in many industries over the years and is now rapidly expanding to the HPC community.
“We are very pleased to be invited for a fourth time to present at HP-CAST. HP and Axceleon have had a close relationship since 2002 with hundreds of mutual deployments around the globe. The role of the “cloud” is expanding quickly into high performance computing. Cloud based computing is being actively deployed by companies large and small and provides a very cost effective, flexible solution for workloads that require thousands of cores and is often used to add surge capacity to their existing in-house compute clusters”, said Michael Duffy, president and COO of Axceleon. “Axceleon has over 10 years of experience and expertise working in larger private cloud environments and first deployed CloudFuzion in public clouds in 2007. We were the first to announce the ability to build complete clusters for image processing and rendering in the cloud in less than 5 minutes using CloudFuzion”, commented Michael Duffy.
CloudFuzion is integrated with applications which are used in the Power Utility industry, 3D Animation and Scientific applications. CloudFuzion will move the data required to the cloud and assure the data is in the right place at the right time for the workload or simulation and in turn will move the results back to the enterprise data repository as part of an automated workflow. The user or artist is oblivious as to where the processing takes place.
CloudFuzion is a workflow automation solution for HPC applications in the cloud. CloudFuzion has the ability to manage individual clouds, virtual machines, processors/cores to maximize and optimize the HPC application’s compute needs. CloudFuzion's "Fast Track" BIG DATA module ensures that data is moved to and from cloud based HPC compute farms at maximum speed and assures that data is always there for the HPC application computing needs. CloudFuzion also enables "Cloud Federation" which means integrating clouds from different providers to optimize cost and availability of resources. The goal being to accelerate the time to results using optimized cloud based HPC clusters.
CloudFuzion, high performance cluster computing software, is developed here in the United States by Axceleon. The CloudFuzion® platform is available as a service (PaaS) and enables Applications As A Service used on larger public clouds, such as Microsoft Azure and Amazon EC2, grids and high performance internal cloud computing environments and runs natively on all major OS platforms Windows®, Linux®, Mac OS® and Unix®. Axceleon cluster computing software is currently deployed in power/energy utilities, 3D applications, financial services, bioinformatics, scientific research, telecommunications and engineering, where it helps users to get more results faster.

CloudFuzion Cloud Clusters
Axceleon™ brings the power of the cloud to Siggraph 2011. CloudFuzion integrates internal render farm rendering nodes with cloud based render nodes and automatically forms an expanded cluster of internal and cloud based rendering resources. This enables studios to engage “on-demand” pay-as-you-go cloud based services like Amazon EC2 or Microsoft Azure to complement their internal infrastructure as needed. CloudFuzion also supports “bursting to the cloud” where cloud based resources
