Cleanrite-Buildrite's Participation in Bidwell Bark Charity Event Surpasses all Expectations

Northern California's second annual Bidwell Bark fundraiser for The Butte Humane Society was an outstanding success with an over 500% increase in participants from the first year. This year Cleanrite-Buildrite decided to help make a difference, and their contribution far exceeded their expectations. More than 1,500 people and their dogs participated in the first Bidwell Bark 5k Fun Run & 2k Walk on September 29, and all told, over $79,000 was raised for the animals. It was considered an amazing turnout and a huge success for all involved. Cleanrite-Buildrite Critters booth alone raised more than $4100 for the worthwhile cause while passing out free dog bones and chew toys to the many participants. Their employees also brought their own dogs and participated in all the dog fun events.

Bidwell Bark was at Sycamore Field next to Caper Acres Playground in Chico's Lower Bidwell Park this year. The event featured: a 5k Fun Run and a 2k Walk through scenic, shady Lower Bidwell Park, a dog tricks contest, frisbee demos from Disc Dogs of the Golden Gate, and a dog costume contest with categories and prizes for most crafty, best dog/owner duo, most awww-inspiring, and best in show. There was also a tail wagging contest, a kid's activity tent, dog fun zone, and a silent auction. All this was to family-friendly live music provided by Decades.

The Butte Humane Society is one of the oldest non-profit agencies in Butte County, California, working since 1911 to bring humanitarian care to dogs, cats and other animals. The top five individual fundraisers were: Toube Benedetto, Kristen Staggs, Cleanrite-Buildrite's Curtis Chamberlain, Scott Schulman, and Cleanrite-Buildrite's Dan Andreasen. That's a big showing from Cleanrite-Buildrite and their management for this worthwhile charity. Top 3 Male 5K Finishers: Heladio Punzo, Steve Naiman, then Marty Crosley. Top 3 Female 5K Finishers: Bib #206, Morgan Lewis, then Bib #52. Top 3 Canine 5K Finishers: Zach Naiman, Chance Miller, then Rudy Gonzalez.
